The Ambassador Health System is a closely held corporation owned by Tim and Sally Juilfs of Nebraska City, NE. As President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Juilfs has negotiated all acquisitions of new facilities, financing, and has been involved in the development of policies and operations for all The Ambassador Health System facilities.
At the age of 21, Timothy Juilfs began his management career as Administrator for the Evangelical Good Samaritan Home in Ellis, Kansas. In the spring of 1978, Mr. Juilfs and his family moved to Nebraska City after his father-in-law, Wayne Stutheit, acquired Valley View Care Center. In 1980, Mr. Juilfs started Quality Health Care Facilities and over the next fourteen years his company grew to seventeen facilities in four states.
In 1995, the Juilfs family made a decision to radically refocus the direction of the company; choosing to sell the fourteen smaller facilities in order to expand and renovate three of the largest Nebraska facilities: Quality Health Care Facilities gave way to The Ambassador Health System. The new goal was to focus on the post-acute care industry, including the area of pediatric long-term care and increasing the emphasis on the ventilator dependent and pulmonary related care.
The management company, The Ambassador Group, Inc. currently renders its services to the following post-acute care nursing facilities.
- The Ambassador Omaha, a 156 bed facility which maintains units for skilled care, transitional care, pediatric long-term care and ventilator dependent care. This facility located on 72nd Street in Omaha is a well established and highly respected care center and is known for being able to care for patients beyond the scope of a traditional care center.
- The Ambassador Lincoln, a 130 bed facility that includes skilled, long-term care, and pulmonary special care. An integral member of Lincoln’s healthcare community for more than 25 years, The Ambassador Lincoln strives for positive patient outcomes, with team members working together to return each of our patients to their maximum level of functioning.
- The Ambassador Nebraska City is a lovely rural health care complex including all levels of care from villa apartments to assisted living and skilled care. The complex has 56 skilled beds, 22 assisted living units and 22 villa condominiums.
- The Ambassador Sidney, a 51 bed facility which includes skilled and long-term care; located in beautiful Sidney, IA.
To increase the concept of a campus of wellness in Nebraska City, The Ambassador Health System includes a wellness center which consists of fitness classrooms, fitness equipment, lap pool, sauna and Jacuzzi as well as a full size basketball and racquetball court.
The Ambassador employs approximately 500 persons in full-time and part-time positions where personal and professional growth is encouraged.
